Multi-body Simulations

For virtual simulation of behaviour of systems of bodies (in engineering terms “systems of mutually moving parts”) so called multi-body systems are applied at present. They are softwares capable of treating for example engine manifold with a chain drive. In this case owing to the function of the cam mechanism, the variable torque loading occurs, causing reaction of the floppy chain, which can ultimately completely loosen up and vibrate.

LENAM has experience in using software for complicated technical cases including combination with other simulation methods (interaction with CFD, incorporation of frequency properties of individual members by means of FEM) and experimental measuring (high-speed camera).
