Development of Testing Procedures

In real life we meet situations where some quantities cannot be measured as there are no accessible ways of their obtaining. LENAM develops in such cases a suitable methodology, sometimes even including special measuring device.

Let’s take as an example requirement of measuring the component forces and torques on the holder of the driving unit in a running car. In this case dynamometers cannot be installed in the system. That is why LENAM developed a method where FEM simulations for optimal distribution of strain-gauges on the holder are combined with the respective strain-gauge measuring and consequent data-record processing into component forces and torques. This method was used for example in a crash test of vehicles.
