Material Testing
We provide a comprehensive service in the field of mechanical testing of materials. Mechanical tests are used to determine stiffness, strength, or fatigue properties of materials. We perform both static and dynamic tests of mechanical properties of plastics, composites, rubber, metals, and films. The service also includes complete sample preparation (e.g. injection moulding from granulate or production of test specimens taken directly from products).

Examples of material testing:
- static tensile, compression, shear, and bending tests (−50 to +250 °C)
- static and impact testing of flat specimens under biaxial stress
- creep and relaxation tests
- tensile impact testing
- measurement of the coefficient of linear thermal expansion (CLTE)
- DMA – Dynamic Mechanical Analysis: up to 200 Hz (−50 to +250 °C)
- determination of the glass transition temperature of polymer materials using the DMA method
- impact and notched impact strength testing (Charpy)
CAE Material Cards for Finite Element (FE) Numerical Solutions
During the development phase, proposed designs are initially tested only virtually through finite element (FE) numerical simulations. For these purposes, it is essential to have an accurate material description in terms of mechanical properties. This material description is contained in material cards through a mathematical model, and its quality determines the accuracy of the results of each numerical simulation.
We develop CAE material cards based on mechanical testing according to customer specifications or our own methodologies. Based on the client’s needs, we are able to propose the types and scope of required material tests and select an appropriate finite element (FE) material model.
The developed material cards are subsequently validated using FE simulations of material tests. We create material cards for various material models and software (e.g. Pam-Crash, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, MSC. Marc).
